China's first cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-1, which was launched on Thursday, has now completed its second orbit control to adjust its track.
It will carry out similar adjustments in order to prepare for its first docking with the Tiangong-2 space laboratory on Saturday. The unmanned Tianzhou-1 is set for three docking attempts with the space lab, which was sent into orbit last September.
The cargo craft will fuel the facility at each docking attempt to test resupply technology. Aside from refueling, Tianzhou-1 is also designed for resupplying astronauts on a planned future space station with food, water and other provisions. Multiple experiments will be carried out during the cargo ship's three-month stay in space after the docking process.
