'La La Land' in China – Chinese investors fund Hollywood film productions

Hollywood is rolling out red carpets for the Academy Awards this Sunday, and this year’s front runner "La La Land" holds 14 nominations. The hit is approved worldwide and makes investors very happy.

One of them is a relatively young Chinese company called TIK, a subsidiary of the listed Hunan TV & Broadcast. CGTN’s reporter Feng Xin recently sat down with Yang Qian, the executive vice-president of TIK Films to discuss why La La Land found its popularity in China and what Chinese investment plays a role in Hollywood productions.

La La Land is a film musical written and directed by Damien Chazelle and starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone as a Jazz musician and an aspiring actress who meet and fall in love and explore their own careers in Los Angeles.
