National Basketball Association: Oklahoma City 127 - L.A. Clippers 117
[]
We tip-off with hoops, where Russell Westbrook is starting to play like the MVP again. The OKC guard struggled to get accustomed to his new teammates, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, as the Thunder were a losing club in the early part of the season. But, a focus to get the ball back in his hands as seen the team go 12-5 in the month of December and move back into a playoff position. OKC, and Russell would be on the road to face the L.A. Clippers.
Early on, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan play a little two-man ball, and Blake goes hard to the rack, as the hosts take a 7-point lead.
L.A. would continue to play well in the opening half -- off a miss they are out in transition, as Montrezl Harrell converts the alley-oop, to make it a 13-point game.
But OKC, chip away at that lead -- and tie things right before the half -- as Russ cans the triple. Speaking of triples, he had another triple double.
Off to the third, and the Thunder roll, and on the fast break, Melo pulls up for the triple. He had 22. OKC leads by 6.
The Clips stay close, Blake finds Sam Dekker for the throwdown, its back to a 4-point game.
Paul George would be the highman for the Thunder, getting the shooter's roll on his way to 31, as his team open up a 10-point lead.
And then late in the game, Raymond Felton bricks one off the side of the backboard, only to see Westbrook get the hoop and the harm. 29 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists for him in a ten point win. And in the only other game Golden State was able to outclass Houston 124-114. Steph Curry had 29 in the win, Klay Thompson had 28 as the Warriors lead the Rockets by three games for the best record in the West.
