One of the DPRK's most senior officials, Kim Yong Nam, will lead a high-level delegation to attend the opening ceremony at the PyeongChang Games on Friday.
Kim is president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, and a key figure in the DPRK's diplomatic activities. He led the delegations to opening ceremonies of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the 2014 Sochi Winter Games. Seoul says they will provide "head of state" treatment to Kim. He will be the highest-level DPRK official to visit South Korea so far.
