Emmy Award winning actor Jim Parsons now sees his life - both in and out television - moving to a new level of happiness.
The Big Bang Theory star married his boyfriend of 14 years Todd Spiewak on Saturday at New York’s Rainbow Room restaurant, shortly after Parsons’ Emmy winning character Dr. Sheldon Cooper proposed to his on-show girlfriend Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler, played by actress and real-life neuroscientist Mayim Bialik.

Expect more twists and turns to come from the hit CBS show, with two more seasons announced in March, bringing the total number of seasons to 10. All of the seven core cast members have also renewed their contracts and will continue in their recurring roles. The sitcom is about a group of scientists/geeks coping with daily life.
The American TV production has since its debut in 2007 managed to amass a huge fan base worldwide, including in China. On Chinese social network Weibo, tens of thousands of fans rejoiced upon hearing news that Parsons had tied the knot.

Of the more than 20,000 comments left beneath the Weibo account that was among the first to break the news in Chinese on Monday, one fan wrote drily, “Oh dear, I’ve been following the TV series since season 1 and I can’t believe that they’ve all gotten married and I’m still single.”
