UK Prime Minister Theresa May has named Gavin Williamson as the country's new Secretary of State for Defense.

Williamson's appointment comes after Michael Fallon's resignation over a sexual harassment scandal sweeping parliament. May's Downing Street Office said in a statement that the Queen has approved the 41-year-old's appointment. Williamson was May's chief whip involved in enforcing discipline for the Prime Minister's Conservative party in parliament.
