Brazilian mechanic Alfredo Moser has been called a 21st century Thomas Edison, thanks to his ingenious invention that uses only a plastic bottle, water and a few drops of bleach to help bring affordable and sustainable light to millions around the world.
Two million people in over 20 countries are now using what has been dubbed the Moser Lamp. And Moser, who has never sought to profit from his idea, had his benevolence praised by former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon who called him “a true global citizen.”
