Chinese Premier Li Keqiang will pay an official visit to Germany from Wednesday to Friday.

Li will meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and attend an annual meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel. Li and Merkel will also attend a China-Germany innovation forum.

This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Germany. Below is a brief history of the development of Sino-German relations:
