US-ROK Defense Meeting: Mattis: Best response to DPRK crisis remains diplomacy-led

US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis has stressed diplomacy as the way to deal with the DPRK crisis, during a meeting with his South Korean counterpart in Hawaii.
Mattis said military options are backed up to ensure diplomats speak from a position of strength. This came a day after South Korea's Foreign Ministry said a military solution would be unacceptable and the standoff must be resolved diplomatically.
