‍China’s public security forces should be loyal to the Communist Party of China (CPC), said Chinese President Xi Jinping while addressing representatives from public security departments across the country at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday morning.
President Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with heroes and role models from the country’s public security departments.
Xi stressed that those working in the public security system should serve the people, promote impartiality in law enforcement, and remain disciplined.

During the meeting, 615 units and 1,320 individuals in the public security system were honored and praised.
Xi congratulated the units and individuals, and greeted all the representatives.
“This meeting is a gathering of heroes in the public security departments, and I am very exhilarated to see everyone with energy and high morale,” said Xi.
“Everyone has made outstanding achievements in his or her respective positions. You are role models not only to the public security system, but also to the whole society.”
He underscored that the public security organizations and public security forces should adhere to the Party's leadership.
Xi called for the strengthening of public security forces' regularization, specialization and professionalization.
In his speech, Xi expressed thanks to the representatives and hailed them as loyal guards of the Party and the people.
"In times of peace, the public security team is one of the most sacrificed and dedicated groups. The team has been working with no weekends and holidays. Every time I heard you shed blood and laid down your life in the past years, I felt heartbroken," said Xi.
Xi shook hands with the representatives and took a group photo to mark the occasion.
Premier Li Keqiang and Liu Yunshan, president of the Party School of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, were also present at the meeting.
