Police officer stabbed outside UK Parliament, several injuries reported

A police officer has been stabbed near the Houses of Parliament in central London on Wednesday, according to BBC. 
At least one attacker was shot by armed police.
It is reported at least six people have been injured on Westminster Bridge outside the Houses of Parliament. The parliament building has been locked down. 
Commons leader David Lidington has told MPs a "police officer has been stabbed" and the "alleged assailant was shot by armed police" following a "serious" incident within the parliamentary estate.
Staff inside parliament were told to stay inside their offices and the House of Commons session was suspended. 
The Metropolitan police tweeted, “We were called at approx 2:40pm to reports of an incident at #Westminster Bridge. Being treated as a firearms incident - police on scene.”
