Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday called for further efforts to implement a pilot reform and produce more reform practices that could be replicated and promoted.
Xi, who is also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at the 35th meeting of the Central Leading Group for Deepening Overall Reform, which he heads.
Li Keqiang, Liu Yunshan and Zhang Gaoli, all members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and deputy heads of the leading group, also attended the meeting.
The group passed a slew of guidelines and plans, including policy support for foreign investment, environment protection, education system reform, and public interest litigation.

The leading group pledged China’s commitment to further open up the country’s economy to foreign investment.
Restrictive measures should be aborted, and a "negative list" approach should be adopted, in a bid to allow foreign investors easier access to China's key sectors.
The leading group reaffirmed its promise to establish monitoring and early-warning mechanisms for environmental and resource carrying capacity. Warnings will be issued and measures taken to place restrictions on regions which have exceeded or are approaching their carrying capacity in terms of resource consumption and environmental capacity.
A pilot program to launch a cross-regional environmental protection organization in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area will be carried out, and more focus should be given to improving the air quality.
A guideline on deepening reform of the educational system was adopted at the meeting, aimed to cultivate students' abilities in lifetime learning and creative thinking, as well as the ability to adapt to the times, according to a statement issued after the meeting.
The statement also said the time is ripe to officially establish the system of public interest litigation by prosecutors after nearly two years of pilot reform.
