Pyeongchang Paralympics: Russia barred from Paralympics, athletes can compete as neutrals
[]
The International Paralympic Committee has banned Russia's team from the Pyeongchang Paralympics in March because of alleged doping.
But the committee says around 30 Russians will be allowed to compete in five sports as neutral athletes. They will be subjected to extra drug testing. The announcement follows a similar ban with exceptions for individual Russian athletes at next month's Winter Olympics. It will be the second Paralympics without a Russian team after Russia was excluded from the Rio de Janeiro Paralympics in 2016.
