Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has urged the Constituent Assembly and the Elections Board, to set a date for the country's presidential election by Monday.
Maduro was nominated for re-election by the ruling Socialist Party earlier on Friday. The snap poll is expected to be held before the end of April, after the Constituent Assembly announced last week, that the vote would be held earlier, from the previously scheduled December date. The country's Supreme Court has banned individuals from the opposition coalition, and several prominent opposition figures, from participating in the election. The government and opposition previously held a dialogue on the ban in the Dominican Republic, and are scheduled to meet again on Monday.
