Emphasis on stability won't slow reforms, says CPPCC spokesman

The first big event of this year's Two Sessions is a press conference held by China's top political advisory body, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
Last year, China maintained a medium-to-high economic growth rate under its new development philosophy. This year, China is expected to remain the most powerful economic engine driving the world economy. 
China has set the tone for the nation's economy: Achieving progress while maintaining stability.
Progress and stability have been important economic targets for years, but this year, China's top political advisory body says the country will focus particularly on stability .
Wang Guoqing, spokesperson for the fifth session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, has noted that China's focus on stability this year will not slow down the pace of reforms.
