China-Pakistan Economic Corridor: Pakistan inaugurates new section of expressway

Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has inaugurated the E-35 Expressway, which cost some 327-million-US dollars. Our correspondent Danial Khan has more.

 DANIAL KHAN HYDERABAD, PAKISTAN "The 47-kilometer segment, which is an important section of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has been completed in less than three years. This is the second Motorway project in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province after Peshawar-Islamabad motorway. The six-lane Hazara Motorway has a total length of 57 kilometers and it is being implemented in three packages. The remaining 12-kilomentre section would be opened for traffic by February next year. Experts say, it will benefit six million people of the northern areas and with the completion of the motorway, the people of the area would be able to play an active role in trade, tourism, industry and agricultural sectors that would ultimately boost the country's economy."
