Staying with football, we are five and a half months away until the World Cup in Russia. FIFA has started its final operational tour of the 12 stadiums to be used for the tournament.
Tuesday, some officials visited the 67,000-capacity Saint Petersburg Stadium, which will play host to seven matches, including a semi-final and the third-place play-off. The "Spaceship" as it is known hosted the FIFA Confederations Cup last year. There were issues with the turf, which needed to be replaced, but there is enough time for it to be perfect ahead of the event. Due to a lack of light during the winter months, organizers installed heat lamps to help grow the grass. The football spectacular involves 32 countries and features 65 matches, and runs from June 14th to July 15th. This is the first time the competition has been held in Russia.
