Cold winter storms brought along another wave of heavy snow to the East Ujimqin Banner of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Thursday.
Many people in the area were left stranded in their homes as snowfall about one meter high accumulated around them. With thick snow piled up along the road, transport has proven difficult. Trucks were brought in to help transfer food supplies for local herdsmen, but low visibility provides quite the challenge to local residents. Local government staff ordered several bulldozers to help clear up the snow so that supply vehicles could safely arrive at the farms.
