AFC U-23 Championship: Vietnam faces Uzbekistan in final
[]
Back here in China, the Changzhou Olympic sports centre will host the final of the AFC Under 23 - Championship on Saturday in which Vietnam goes up against Uzbekistan. Despite heavy snow in Changzhou, the two sides are doing what they can to prepare as both countries are chasing their first title at the event.
The winter weather has forced Vietnamese, who are certainly not used to snow, to take their practice sessions inside. The team managed to advance from a group including South Korea, Australia, and Syria, before claiming penalty shootout victories over Iraq and Qatar to book their place in the final. Their opponent Uzbekistanis are more familiar with cold conditions and have insisted on training outside to better prepare for any possible weather in the final. They proved their power by finishing on top of Group B and sealed their place in the trophy match by thumping South Korea 4-1. Both teams are seeking to win their first ever AFC Under23 - Championship title.
