Over the weekend in Gaza, China's Silk Road initiative was launched. Noor Harazeen has this report.
On Sunday during a press conference, Palestinian industrialist and politician Moniab Almasry announced the launch of the New Silk Road, an initiative proposed by China to boost economy blues worldwide. Almasry who also serves as the Vice Chairman of Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce, said that the Silk Road project is essential for the development of Gaza, one of the most densely populated places on earth.
MONIAB ALMASRY, VICE CHAIRMAN SILK ROAD CHAMBER OF INTERNATIONAL COMMERCE "This project will support essential projects in the Gaza Strip, such as the construction of a water desalination station, a power plant, an airport, a seaport, industrial zones, and agriculture projects. The Silk Road is the Chinese solution for the problems of Gaza."
Palestine's Federation of Industries director welcomed the project, and said that it promises Gaza more tangible economic growth.

The "One Belt One Road" initiative, better known as Silk Road project, was officially launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping in September 2013, with aims to connect Asia, Europe and Africa through the ancient trade routes.
