Chinese traffic cops aim to beat illegal parking with new clamping and fine policy

Traffic police in Heze city, east China’s Shandong Province have begun clamping the wheels of illegally-parked tricycles and scooters and forcing drivers to pay a fine before their vehicles’ release.

Though common elsewhere in the world, Chinese traffic police don’t usually use wheel clamps. According to Shandong news portal sdnews.com.cn, 200 such devices have been put into use in Heze.
