China Cold Front: Snow and freezing rain to continue across the country

Weather authorities in China have issued an orange alert for snowfall for the next 24 hours. The alert is the second most severe in the country's four-tier warning system. In parts of central China, up to 20 centimeters of snow is expected to fall.
The country has witnessed heavy snowfall over the past few days, causing cancellations to trains and flights, and closures of highways, and tourist attractions. In some southwestern provinces, freezing rain has damaged tens of thousands of hectares of farmland, and even toppled down greenhouses. The extreme weather is expected to ease up on Sunday.
