The website of the China Railway Corporation had its highest number of visits on Monday, as people geared up to get their tickets for the Chinese New Year. And there was another surge in ticket sales on Wednesday.

The railway system's official website saw a record number of visits, standing at over 100 billion. The tickets sold on the same day also reached a record high of over 10 million.  Wednesday saw at least 200-thousand tickets sold for the New Year's Eve, which falls on February 15th this year. Among the ticket buyers, the railway authorities said, nearly 50 percent were born after 1990, which is an 8 percent increase year on year.
