Chinese women's curling team on Friday won the gold medal by a final score of 12-5 against South Korean counterpart at the Asian Winter Games in Sapporo, Japan.

The team, skipped by Wang Bingyu, consisted of former world champions. The rink had a chance to capture the continental crown but needed to overcome the South Korean squad to make it to the top of the podium.

In the fifth end, South Korea with last stone looked to hit and stick, but the rock went through the house. China stole one and led 5-3.

In the ninth end, Chinese skip Wang was able to put the pressure on her opponent, drawing to the four foot, then had five sitting in the house.
The South Korean rival, with its last stone, failed to knock the Chinese rocks from the rings, and missed everything. Chinese team stole three with a 12-5 triumph eventually.
After the game, Wang, skip of Chinese women’s curling team said: "I feel very proud. Our country's flag was raised because of our common efforts, and we were able to hear the national anthem, which was the biggest honor for us as competitors.”

Just a day earlier, Chinese men's curling team also won the championship after a victory of 11-4 over Japan at the Asian Winter Games.
