Now let's get back to the South Korea hospital fire. At least 41 people have been killed, and over 70 others injured. The fire broke out at Sejong Hospital in Miryang, South Gyeongsang province. The fire has been put out and the patients have been transferred to nearby hospitals.
CHOI MAN-WU, DIRECTOR MIRYANG FIRE DEPARTMENT "We confirmed that today's fire first broke out at Sejong Hospital's emergency room, located on the first floor at around 7:35 AM. We stopped the fire from spreading from the first floor to the second floor during the initial phase. In this respect, we also prevented the fire from spreading to the second, third, fourth and fifth floors."
A total of 194 patients were in the hospital when the fire started. Most casualties were from the first and second floor of the hospital. Among the injured, 13 people are in critical condition. Firefighters have started third round of rescue operation. South Korean President Moon Jae-in has called for swift measures to minimize the damage from the fire after an emergency meeting. The blaze happened just one month after a huge fire broke out in a fitness center in the central city of Jecheon. It started at the first-floor parking lot of an eight-story building, and claimed 29 lives.
