Cambodia Politics: Developments of Kem Sokha treason case
[]
Now let's take a quick glance at how things developed in this political row. Sixty-four-year-old Kem Sokha became the president of Cambodia's main opposition party, the Cambodia National Rescue Party, in March this year.

Sokha was arrested on September 3rd, one day after an incriminating video was uploaded to Facebook. The video showed him telling supporters in Australia about a secret plot against the Cambodian government with US support.

The CNRP announced it will continue to support Kem Sokha and threatened to boycott the election if Sokha is not freed.

While Prime Minister Hun Sen accused Sokha of intolerable treason, and said an investigation is underway to find out if his entire party was involved in the plot.
