Work and Play: Scottish bookshop invites holidaymakers to play bookseller
[]
For literature lovers across the globe, this new idea might just be the one to make the perfect holiday. In Scotland, you can pay to run a bookstore. For just £150 pounds (a little over 200 US dollars), customers can get accommodations in buildings above "The Open Book" store at various locations in Wigtown, Dumfries and Galloway, and also the chance to work a 40-hour week at the concept store. The unusual deal has just been listed on the lodging website Airbnb. Holidaymakers will receive on-site training in bookselling from local book experts and also the opportunity to put their "own stamp" on the bookstore while they're there.
