Chinese President Xi: Wisdom essential to tackling economic hurdles

In a letter to the opening ceremony of this year's Boao Forum for Asia in south China's Hainan Province, Chinese President Xi said that wisdom will be crucial in addressing challenges hobbling the world economy.
Xi warned against threats to globalization and rising protectionism around the world. China has long reiterated its support for free trade on several international stages, while also viewing globalization as a major driver for supporting rapid economic growth in the coming decades.
The coastal township of Boao has been hosting the event since 2001.
