US Vice President Mike Pence is in the Jordanian capital of Amman, where he has met with King Abdullah.
King Abdullah reiterated his belief in the need for a two-state solution to the Palestine issue. Jordanians protested against the visit, which follows President Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. That decision enraged the Arab world and upset Western allies. Pence strongly supports Trump's move.
Earlier, the Vice President visited Egypt and he will also go to Israel for talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
