The Republic of Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will hold vice ministerial-level talks today at the truce village of Panmunjom, discussing details of the DPRK's participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, including a travel route and accommodation. South Korea's delegation is led by Chun Hae-sung. He is the vice minister of unification and has a range of experience in inter-Korean talks. Yonhap described him as a veteran official in charge of cross-border affairs when he was appointed vice minister by President Moon Jae-in last year.
The DPRK's chief delegate is Jon Jong Su. He is the vice chairman of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country, which the DPRK's state agency in charge of inter-Korean affairs. He was the DPRK's chief negotiator in the high-level reconciliation talks between the north and south in 2015.
