We begin in Russia, where 10 people have been killed in a fire. A major blaze ravaged a shoe factory near the Siberian city of Novosibirsk. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, seven Chinese people, two Kyrgyz, and one Russian were the victims.
The fire broke out at around 9 a.m. local time on Thursday. It covered about two-thousand square meters with plumes of toxic smoke. Some 84 firefighters and 24 units assisted in putting out the blaze. Smoke from the fire at the shoe factory is not believed to represent a danger to local residents.
