Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro announced in a TV address early on Saturday that an agreement had been reached amid a row between the country's Supreme Court and the opposition-led congress.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday dissolved the National Assembly, prompting mass anti-government rallie. Protesters in the capital Caracas took to the streets and clashed with police. The opposition said the Supreme Court's move took the country one step closer toward dictatorship for Maduro administration.
Many senior officials also called on the Supreme Court to review its decision. The court has shot down most of the National Assembly's measures since the opposition won control in 2015. At the same time, Maduro's approval ratings have plummeted as the Venezuelan economy has struggled with a fourth year of recession.
