The Tibet Autonomous Region in southwest China is full of surprises and thrilling twists and turns, but the most impressive is the section of road known as the "Nu Jiang 72 Turns", along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway between the counties of Basu and Bangda. 46 kilometers in length; drivers, passengers and even thrillseeking cyclists ascend over 1,500 meters, reaching a breathtaking altitude of 4,658 meters.

Nujiang River is nearby the winding road, and eventually flows southward from the Tibetan Plateau in China to Myanmar and Thailand.

Viewing the spectacular hairpin bends of the "Nu Jiang 72 Turns" from above, one can see the meandering road winding against the backdrop of snow-crested mountains.
