Firefighters rescue boy whose hand got stuck in escalator A 6-year-old boy got his left hand stuck in the rolling belt of an escalator at the entrance of a residence community in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Wednesday. He was finally released by firefighters. The incident happened in the early evening when the boy was playing on the escalator alone. The rescuers inserted an iron pry bar into the gap of the escalator, trying to open it wide enough so the boy’s hand would release. After this failed, they decided to use a hydraulic spreader to carry out the rescue. After 20 minutes, the boy was finally rescued and sent to a hospital. The boy suffered a fractured, according to the hospital.
