Among the LGBT community in China, Jin Xing, the Chinese dancer and celebrity, is definitely the most noteworthy personality. Since undergoing sex reassignment surgery in 1995, Jin Xing has been a woman. Even nowadays, sex-change remains highly controversial in China; people can’t help wondering what impact the sex-change action still has on her? CGTN's anchor asked her whether all the controversy and criticism bothers her.                                          

“No. I don’t think so, because I get a lot of confidence from my children. One day - I remember it clearly - they announced my name on TV as “the world-renown Chinese transgender modern dancer” and my kids looked at the TV and said, ‘they are so that pathetic, mom’; I said, ‘why did you say that?’ They couldn’t get over this right? Then I looked at my children, 11 years old, saying those words! It gave me big comfort and confidence. Sometimes society can be very cruel. I want my children to grow up proud of their mother."
