We begin in the Vietnamese city of Da Nang, where a "family photo" of Asia-Pacific leaders has been taken during the welcoming ceremony of APEC 2017. The leaders include heavyweights like Chinese President Xi Jinping, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The host of this year's event, Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, greeted the leaders and called on APEC members to uphold the group's close and effective cooperation mechanism. The theme for this year's session is "Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future."
