We begin in Beijing, where Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono is visiting China for the first time while in this role. On Sunday afternoon, Kono has met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
Both have expressed hopes for improved Sino-Japanese ties, especially since 2018 marks the 40th anniversary of the Peace and Friendship Treaty signed between the two countries. Kono also met with Chinese state councilor Yang Jiechi and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
