Two leading African bodies are determined to ensure the the success of South Sudan's ceasefire. The African Union and the regional Intergovernmental Authority on Development say they will act to protect the nation's peace process. Our correspondent Girum Chala has more from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.
GIRUM CHALA ADDIS ABABA "The African union has expressed it's determination together with the regional grouping IGAD to ensure that the south Sudanese parties abide by their obligations and responsibilities and refrain from further violating the agreement. If that fails to be the case , the African Union and IGAD also have intentions of taking actions against those who they called spoilers and those who stand in the way of peace in South Sudan. The South Sudanese sides are now expected to avail themselves back on the negotiating table to iron out their remaining differences. All sides - the UN, AU and IGAD included firmly believe there can only be a political solution to the conflict in South Sudan in order to end the appalling suffering inflicted on the people of South Sudan.
