University of Illinois Police released surveillance video showing the last time the missing Chinese scholar Yingying Zhang was seen on the afternoon of June 9.
In the video, Zhang was seen talking to the driver of a black Saturn Astra in Urbana-Champaign before getting into the passenger seat. The car drove off and Zhang has not been seen since.
Zhang was about a month into a year-long program at the central Illinois school when she disappeared. She's from Jianyang, China.
Officials and Zhang's family are offering 40,000 US dollars for information leading to an arrest in this case. The reward comes in addition to the FBI's reward of up to 10,000 US dollars for information to help locate Yingying.
Authorities have labeled the case kidnapping, but haven't ruled anything out.
