China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) in collaboration with the Kenya Railway Cooperation awarded 25 photographers for their work on Kenya’s newly built Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).
Over 600 people signed up for a five-day trip from Mombasa, tracking the CRBC project all the way to Nairobi and showcasing the project’s infrastructural footprint and impact in Kenya.
“We hope these photos will be a story for our children. They will be able to know the history behind the SGR,” Engineer Johnson, math project coordinator of the TAEC consortium, said.
The top prize was 400,000 Kenyan shillings (3,900 US dollars), with the runner up taking 200,000 Kenyan shilling and the third placed 100,000.
The SGR will extend to Uganda, Rwanda and Congo and will be the foundation of the railway network in the future.
