MOFA responds to Trump's comments on DPRK leader's 'desire for peace'

US President Donald Trump said in an interview on Tuesday with a local television station in Wisconsin that how much the DPRK's leader desires peace will be a deciding factor in easing tensions between his nation and the United States.
He said that the US wanted peace and he hoped that DPRK top leader Kim Jong Un wanted the same, adding that would be "the end determination."
China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said on Thursday at a regular press briefing that China’s position on the Korean Peninsula issue has been consistent.
China is committed to realizing denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula, preserving the peace and stability of the Peninsula, and resolving relevant issues through dialogue and consultation, said MOFA spokesperson Lu Kang.
Lu  said the major parties to the Korean Peninsula issue have all expressed their reluctance to see confrontation and war, And most of the international community is also calling for peace.
