The condensate the Sanchi carries is very different from the black crude which is often seen in oil spills. Condensate is toxic, low in density and considerably more explosive than regular crude oil. It can kill marine organisms that decompose oil. When condensate is mixed with water, it will quickly evaporate and leave no residue on the surface.Crude oil is heavier than condensate. When an oil spill occurs, the oil floats and forms a thick layer on the water surface, which cuts off oxygen for marine life and destroy ecosystems. Clean-up can be done by skimming the oil off the surface of the water.
