Massive bird migration takes flight over northwest China lake

China's largest desert freshwater lake in northwestern Shaanxi Province, has become home to over 7,000 nationally protected animal species. These include swans, wild geese and the relict gulls. Experts say more birds have been visiting the freshwater lake this year, and they have come earlier in the spring season. Thanks to conservation efforts, water levels at Hongjiannao Lake are two meters higher than in 2016.
