Typhoon Tembin: Storm weakens as it moves to southern Vietnam
[]
Tropical Storm Tembin is hitting the southern end of Vietnam. The country's National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting warns heavy rain and strong wind could cause serious damage.
Vietnam's disaster prevention committee says 74-thousand people have been moved to safety. And authorities in 15 provinces and cities are prepared to move more than a million people. In Vung Tau city, thousands of fishing boats have halted their months-long operation to return for shelter. Tembin unleashed landslides and flash floods that have killed at least 240 people and left 171 others missing in the Philippines over the weekend.
