A small plane carrying four officials working with US contracting firm Bancroft crash-landed at Adan Adde international airport in Mogadishu. All passengers on board survived, and were evacuated after the incident in the Somali capital.

The incident happened due to a mechanical hitch, and caused flight disruptions at the airport.
"Reports point to a failed landing gear," said a source of Xinhua News Agency, adding that the plane crashed while attempting to land.

The plane, en route to Mogadishu from Entebbe in Uganda, was chartered by Bancroft, a security firm that assists the 22,000-strong AU peacekeeping force known as AMISOM.
