Before we go, let's take a look at what's trending across China.
Hats off to these swimmers braving the cold on New Year's day to participate in a winter swimming competition in Shenyang city. The tournament held on a frozen lake in Northeast China's Liaoning province attracted over 200 swimmers, locals and foreigners alike, including young teenagers and even an 86-year-old man! Gotta say, though, the picturesque backdrop may make up for the minus 16 degrees Celsius weather or not.
Moving over to Faku county, also in Liaoning province, a mysterious rotating ice circle on the Liaohe river has attracted hundreds of curious onlookers. From a bird's eye view, the "ice ring" looks like a huge disc. It also appears to be sturdy, even after people stepped on it. While the ice ring is frozen, water continues to flow between the ice and the ring. A charming sight.
And finally, doesn't this sight warm your hearts? A panda seen rolling over, doing a mini "somersault" in the snow in Shaanxi province, in Northwestern China, not once, but a few times! What a joy.
