US to send delegates to Belt and Road Forum in Beijing

The US will send delegates to the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which will be held in Beijing on May 14-15. 
Zhu Guangyao, China’s Vice Minister of Finance, announced the news during a press conference on Friday afternoon. In confirming the delegates' attendance, Zhu said the US acknowledges the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative.
‍Matt Pottinger, a special assistant to US President Donald Trump and senior director for East Asia on the National Security Council, will lead the delegation, Bloomberg reported citing US State Department spokesman Justin Higgins.
