China maintains the world's largest manufacturing capability. That's according to Miao Wei, the minister of Industry and Information Technology. The minister spoke Thursday at a news conference at the 19th National Congress of the CPC in Beijing. Miao Wei said that the MIIT has thoroughly applied General Secretary Xi Jinping's speeches during the past five years and has implemented the "Made in China 2025" plan.

 

The minister added that China has promoted supply-side reforms, cut overcapacity and lowered the costs in traditional manufacturing sectors. Miao Wei also said that China's Internet economy has gradually led the world with the promotion of 5G technology.
