Launch of Tianzhou-1 proves China’s capability of building its’ own space station

China’s successful launch of its first cargo spacecraft on Thursday showed the country was now closer than ever to building its own space station, which the government wants in orbit by 2022. 
British Interplanetary Society president Mark Hempsell and European Space Agency International Relations administrator Karl Bergquist discussed the successful launch on CGTN’s “The Point” hosted by Liu Xin.

Both said the implications of the launch were significant. They were optimistic about what China’s success in space will mean for programs run by other countries around the world.
