Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen arrived in Beijing on Saturday to participate in the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which will be held in the Chinese capital on May 14 and 15.
A total of 29 heads of state and government will attend the forum, the highest-profile international meeting on the Belt and Road since Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed the initiative in 2013.
The traditional friendship between China and Cambodia has lasted for 59 years. The two countries have vowed to push forward the development of bilateral ties and pledged to cooperate within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. On Thursday, the prime minister said the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative gives hope to developing countries in their infrastructure development.
After the conclusion of the forum, Hun Sen will remain in China for an official visit from May 16 to 17.
